Respected Julie Ji

I don't know how to write this, but......

Thank you, for given us the opportunity to participate in the film making training community people who had taken this training are very excited to do something. Sukanti is planning to take computer training, she told me this thing yesterday. After this training I found that both are very confident in different work what I did not found before. Therefore I thought this is a great work that Skillshare had done. Once again thank you all the staff of Skillshare those who are directly or indirectly associate with this programme. I am also planning to do something for them.

with regards.

I wanted to ask if it will be possible for you to send me your Joy of Giving movie. All the participants have been calling to find out when they are getting their copy. If you can post it to the below mentionjed address it will be great.ks,
Tulashi, MASS, Sambhaplur, Orissa

Your presentation was very interesting. It opened windows of thought. Your fundraising skills are way above us. We are still fundraisers at a very nascent stage. We learnt a lot from your presentation skills as well-
Aditi and Sudhir

It was so refreshing to have such an out of the box presentation after having attended so many mundane and systematic workshops. I really mean it I had attended so many of them!

1. It was very innovative, 2. It made us think differently, 3. I liked the concept of “ getting to feel for the cause, actually getting attached to the cause and not merely funding! Just like that without knowing the work”. This helps in gaining partners for future not necessarily MONEY!-
Anjali Chaudhry, Advocacy Coordinator

Presentation was very stimulating and eye opening. Speaker had excellent insights into the current state of fundraising in India. Excellent and innovative fundraising/ marketing ideas Very important to build up a network of credible and transparent NGOs, and market them and their causes to the Indian public. Strongly agree with the need to form relationships or partnerships, rather than just asking for money.-
Sushmit Mazumdar

This is brilliant. Just the stuff one needs.-
Meena Vaidyanathan, Head, External Communications, HCL Technologies Ltd.

In Delhi

Even though some of the stuff you talk about seems too big for beginners like us; the fact that you’ve pulled it off belts out a strong “its doable” message which is far more motivating than just theory on power point. There were ideas that flashed through my mind as you detailed your experiences and its thanks to you that we pulled off a very successful ‘World Disability Day’ walk on the the 3rd of December.

In Dehradun

You had a one-on-one going with everyone in the room, which is a rare skill! Jerry, you initiated change for the Latika Roy Foundation and made a difference in our way of thinking.
Thank you for coming to us.

We all enjoyed and participated your session. Now we came to know instead of taking lot of responsibilities there is the need to make CITIZENS - Socially Responsible. I would love to share your valuable ideas again.
Rakesh Kumar, Rights Management

Jerry began by defining the concept and ethics of fundraising and shared his experiences with us while elaborating on some tried and tested fundraising methods. Jerry taught us to think big and even showed us some advertisements and a short movie clip that he and his team at ICONGO have made. At the end of the day we learnt that fundraising isn’t only about money, it is much more than that. From An NGO website after a workshop conducted for 22 NGO members, at the request of The Resource Alliance and a Funding Agency

Need more workshops just like this one. Content is good and thought provoking

This is one of the best workshops I’ve attended. I learnt many things from you listing a few below: However meaningful the concept may be, how one takes it to the people is important. Reaching out to the people in their language sounds good. Acceptance and community ownership of the process ensures sustainability. Doing things differently matters.

Knowledge is what you hear and I heard a lot today. After a long time it was a good experience.I am sure I am taking a lot of learnings from the workshop-

Being A CA my basic idea of Fundraising was just approaching a donor and getting money but now I realise it involves approaching the right person in the right manner, adding value to our cause so that we get funds and channelize them in a proper manner. It was a enriching experience-

Mumbai Workshop

This “Fundraising and Communication Training" Program was really important and useful for me. Fundraising was a new concept for me before this program, but now lot of my queries have been solved. All the trainers were super knowledgeable and I am really thankful to them for having given me such information. I want to organise a similar program in Nashik. Kindly request you to help me for organising it.
Jayraj A Bagul Officer- CSR International Knowledge Foundation

We are really Thankful to the three partner organisations, iCONGO, Silver Innings and S P Jain Institute of management and Research Centre. All the sessions and Subjects were really helpful to improve the NGO strength and projects. I liked the sessions – The meaning of Fundraising, Planning Communications and Creating a Winning Strategy.
Rahul D. Ahire CSR Head International Knowledge Foundation, Nashik

This is a good Forum for people to network and mobilize resources. We would have loved to have a session to enable this networking and exchange of Information, thus facilitating organizational partnerships. Overall, this was a good exercise.
A.Nagesh Sr. manager-Inst. Sales and Customer Care, TI Cycles of India, MTH Road, Chennai

I personally found the training very useful in quite a few aspects, especially since we plan to start up an NGO. It was an eye opener. Having worked in the NGO sector for quite a few years, I felt that Fundraising for NGOs is an area that is the key aspect and not very effectively practiced. So this training was a great starting point. The sessions were extensive, but some of the sessions were not dealt with in depth. This could be due to paucity of time! The Films and snippets were really useful and an eye opener. Jerry is a great communicator and it was a pleasure meeting so many like-minded people. I hope we get a similar opportunity soon.
Alka Mukherjee

Few speakers/Resource persons were very good and forceful in their presentation and few were slow or not upto the mark in their presentation though they had good content. Good, practical, experienced examples we have got. Proposal writing needs to be reinforced for NGO partners
Santosh

Great effort, I see a lot of potential in what iCONGO does. A few suggestions-

  • Lets stick to the program, agenda that was passed around to the participants
  • Don’t take over anybody else’s talk, its rude to the presentor

A good mix of presenters and topics but moderators needed to be stricter to ensure questions are kept for the end and discussions do not go off topic.
Andrea Mcheod, Help A Child

It was a good learning for two days. Some of the topics were handled excellently. Speakers like Noshir, Shobha, Deepak were great. Inputs by Jerry were great

The overall event was excellent. I learnt a lot from the workshop and got inspired to accelerate my NGO in my Home country- Nepal. The session with Jeroninio was very very ….(to infinity) impressive. I am inspired to attend more workshops organised by iCONGO
Prajwal Baral Work Together, Nepal

The workshop was good and I learnt some new things here. We look forward to receiving the reading material. All through the workshop, I could sense a feeling of discontentment towards the NGO sector. That I felt was too opinionated and judgmental, though I agree that there are a few black sheep in the sector. You have to be open and accept the few good NGOs that are striving to do the best.

It was a great opportunity for me to be here as a part of this workshop. I learnt a lot. I request you to please send contacts fluorescent people whose help can be for the betterment of the NGO. We have only started about two months ago. It is an organisation which supports education to the orphans and underprivileged people.

  • The session was very good. Some o the presentations were very good
  • Some of the presentations had very good content but the speakers were unable to convey the message very effectively
  • Jerry, you were the heart of the session

Thanks,
Venugoppal Tirmall, GreenPeace

The workshop was very informative. Some of the sessions like Ethics and Legalities were excellent. The session on “partnership with Corporates” needed more time, examples and interactive participation. I really enjoyed the practical knowledge sharing of the experienced speakers and would love to attend more such sessions to learn more. Loved the venue and food Jaideep Mukherjee

It was a knowledgeable and information gaining session. All the sessions gave valuable information specially the ones conducted by Jeroninio Almeida. An interesting experience and I would certainly follow the directives given

It was a useful workshop and I learnt a lot about NGOs in India. It was a really good opportunity for NGOs to get in contact and get the chance to work together. Thanks a lot for two really great days.
Balazs Munich, Germany

The workshop was well conducted. The topics covered were very relevant to the sector. The tips given by speakers were pretty useful.

I think he Training Program was extremely informative and inspiring as well. Being a newcomer to the NGO sector, I’ve appreciated the learning and cannot offer any constructive criticism. Maybe a month later I’ll be in a position to do so. One point does come to mind. Perhaps you could start With the ‘Visionaries” on one day and practicals- How To, on another. Thank You very much-
Denise CCDT

I am taking away the Concept that Fundraising need not be a ‘begging for money’ activity but a dignified platform for resource mobilisation and development. I have gained much insight and different views through the workshop, pertaining to Fundraising and Communication.

I found speakers like Bosco, though highly informative and professional in their field of work, very dominating in their presentation. Mr. Chaudhary should also make a presentation that is more crisp and to the point. Completely enjoyed the presentations by Noshir Dadrawala and Deepak Bhatia. Thumbs Up to them. Jerry’s knowledge and experience is inspiring. The workshop, on the whole, could be more crisp and to the point with better time management.
